Celebrating 85 Years by Honoring Our Iowa Veterans This Veterans Day

Hey Sweet Friends,

As we wrap up our 85th anniversary at Lillie Mae Chocolates, we want to do something extra special to give back to those who have given so much for all of us. This Veterans Day, we’re dedicating our celebration to honoring the incredible residents at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown—about 400 veterans and their spouses who call it home.

My husband, Tom, served in the Marine Corps during Operation Desert Storm, and together we’ve always felt a strong connection to the veteran community. Supporting the Iowa Veterans Home has been close to our hearts for a long time, and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate this milestone than by doing something meaningful for our heroes right here in Iowa.

So, here’s our mission: we’re putting together “Thank You Bags” filled with our favorite Lillie Mae treats, and we want every resident at the Iowa Veterans Home to receive one. But we need your help! You can join us in two ways:

1. Buy a Thank You Bag for a veteran in your life – Each bag is a thoughtful gift for the veterans who have touched your heart.
2. Sponsor a Thank You Bag for a resident at the Iowa Veterans Home – With your support, we can ensure that each veteran feels remembered and appreciated.

Plus, a portion of every bag sold will go directly to the Iowa Veterans Home Christmas and Recreation Fund, helping to make the holidays and daily life a little brighter for the residents.
